Latest estimates put the amount of computer and electrical waste discarded in the UK every year to be approaching 100 million tonnes and escalating rapidly.
Currently much of this waste goes unsorted to landfill but we could recycle 98% of this electrical waste as raw materials to the manufacturing chain.
Weee Directive
As of January 2nd, all companies that dispose of electrical equipment and computer waste must comply with the Weee directive which lays down strict requirements for the collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of such waste.
None compliance with the Weee directive is not an option and can result in unlimited fines and possible imprisonment.
